Critical Care Programme FAQs

Study Day Attendance
Must I attend the formative sessions?Yes, these form part of the 80% attendance requirement and all students are expected to attend
I have missed a study day, what do I need to do?If it is just one study day, you will still be able to achieve the 80% attendance requirement as long as you attend all of your other study days. Your educator may ask you for evidence that you have done some work/reading around the topic(s) you have missed
What happens if I miss more than one study day?If you miss two study days, this will be reported to the Programme Leader at the end of the module, who will consider you for "Make-up Theory Hours". Information on this can be found in your student handbook. If you miss more than two study days you will not be allowed to continue with the course, but may ask to be deferred to the next cohort

It is your responsibility to make sure your educator receives it from you in plenty of time for it to be submitted. Do not leave it until the last minute. Educators will be given a date by which all documents must be received at the Skills Institute.
I will be on holiday when my essay is due. Can I submit it early?Essays are now submitted via MMU Moodle - you can submit once the gateway is opened, which is about 1 week in advance

If it is your 1st attempt you will be granted a 2nd and final attempt on a date set by the Programme Leader
I am unable to attend my end of course presentation/poster. What will happen now?Regardless of whether you have submitted your electronic copy to the Skills Institute, if you do not attend to present your work you will fail the academic element of the course. Unless you have applied for/been granted Exceptional Factors. If it is your 1st attempt you will be granted a 2nd and final attempt on a date set by the Programme Leader
